The Wake County Board of Education placed Superintendent Del Burns on administrative leave last night. This decision was made during a closed-door session and took three separate meetings and over four hours of debate to suspend Burns. Chief Academic Officer Donna Hargens will take over as acting superintendent… Burns will remain on the county’s pay-roll, however he will no longer man the day to day operations.
