A Durham man has been arrested in the shooting that killed 46 year old Delia Allen last weekend.
Jerry Lee Adams, of 200 Seven Oaks Road faces a murder charge as well as two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. He has been placed in the Durham jail without bond.
According to witnessees Adams was part of a group who became upset when officers told them that they could not sit in a closed section of the restaurant. About five minutes after leaving the restaurant sources say that Adams returned with a gun and opened fire. The shots killed Allen and left another man with a gunshot wound to the hand.
Adams is no stranger to trouble, he has served probation for five misdemeanor convictions, including drug charges. Also, according to court records show he recently failed to appear in court on misdemeanor drug and traffic charges
