After winning a SAG Award, and an Oscar nomination, Viola Davis has scored two new movie roles. “The Help” actress will appear in Ender’s Game and Beautiful Creatures.

Beautiful Creatures, based on the novel by Margaret Stohl-Kami Garcia,is about a pair of teenagers attempting to break a curse which has haunted one of their families for generations. Davis will play the role of a librarian who has a maternal relationship with one of the teenagers in the project, which is due to begin filming in the spring.

The actress will tackle a very different role in the second film, sci-fi thriller Ender’s Game. Based on a novel by Orson Scott Card, the film follows a young genius who is recruited by the government to defeat an alien insect race. The film is also set to star Harrison Ford, Asa Butterfield, Abigail Breslin and Hailee Steinfeld.

According to Variety, Davis will film Ender’s Game first before commencing her work on Beautiful Creatures.
