SHOWTIME SAYS…

A Raleigh police officer was shot inside a Brier Creek apartment Monday evening.

The apartment complex was evacuated just after 7:30 p.m.after police went into the home of a man who was threatening to commit suicide. That is when the police officer was shot.

Officers had been working nearly all day to contact the man and found out that he was in his apartment on Bothwell St.

Residents living nearby were forced to leave the area, shortly before a special team tried to enter the man’s apartment.

The officer was taken to WakeMed Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The condition of the man in the apartment was unknown.
