Just in case you missed the 2013 BET Awards don’t feel too bad several Hip Hop and R&B stars opted out of the going the annual highlight event. Even Drake with 12 award nominations was absent from the event. Other stars including Mr. & Mrs. Carter (Beyonce & Jay-Z), Kanye, and Rihanna.
Drake explains on Twitter that he was “home finishing the album and spending time w/family before we begin our journey Sept. 17.” Some were starting to speculate that Drake chose not to appear to avoid any encounter with Chris Brown after the altercation in a New York club according to theboombox.com. There has been no word on why they didn’t show.
