This could get worse before it gets better….
A few days ago, the only child of legendary pop songstress, Whitney Houston, Bobbi Kristina, announced via instagram that she married longtime family friend, Nick Gordon. Houston took Gordon in as a teen and took care of him as her own.
TMZ caught up with Krissy and Nick, who confirmed that a bigger ceremony was on the way and that grandmother, Cissy Houston approved of their union.
Well.. according to new reports from TMZ, Cissy does not approve of the marriage. Details below:
Bobbi Kristina and Nick Gordon are now married, and they proudly told us so. They also claimed they attended a Sweet 16 soiree and that’s where Cissy gave her thumbs up. But our Houston family sources say they were at the party … neither BK nor Nick ever asked Cissy for her approval. In fact we’re told Granny Houston was PISSED when she found out the two tied the knot last week … but realized there’s nothing she could do it about it.
I wouldn’t be totally shocked if Bobbi Kristina kept the marriage from Cissy and other family members… Clearly there’s some division, which was chronicled on the 2012 Lifetime reality show, The Houstons: On Our Own.
Bobbi Kristina is only 20 years-old and once she turns 21 this March, she begins to receive her $20 million inheritance. If you’ll remember, back in late 2012, the Houston family filed a petition, as executors of Whitney’s estate, against Bobbi Kris in an attempt to revise the then 19-year-old’s inheritance payments.
At the time, they felt Krissy was “a highly visible target for those who would exert undue influence over her inheritance and/or seek to benefit from respondent’s resources and celebrity.”
Could they be talking about Nick? El Debarge told us time will reveal…
