UK Singer/ Songwriter, Marsha Ambrosius, blew through Raleigh last night for a date at the Lincoln Theater on her Friends & Lovers tour, and we had the chance to talk for an exclusive interview on K97.5.

The Grammy-nominated soulstress hails from Liverpool, UK and has been in the music industry for over a decade, behind-the-scenes writing for your favorite artists (Michael Jackson, Alicia Keys), as part of the neo-soul duo, Floetry, and now, as a successful solo act.

Her debut solo album, Late Nights, Early Mornings, topped the R&B/ Hip-Hop charts in 2011 and yielded successful singles including, “I Hope She Cheats On You (With A Basketball Player),” and “Far Away.”

Now, she is back with a new album, a new perspective on relationships, but the same cohesive and honest material that we’ve come to expect and love.

During the 15 minute interview, we discussed her upcoming sophomore album, Friends & Lovers, the supporting 25-city tour, whether or not Floetry will ever reunite, and more.

Marsha also explained why it’s important for her videos to have meaning and purpose, and how she’s been able to keep her weight off while on the road.

Take a listen and leave your thoughts and comments below.

…. And Marshians… Marsha had some nice words for you!

Check out Marsha’s brand new single, “Run,” which she also talks about in the interview.
