Prince-Billboard-750x400

Musical genius, Prince, has reunited with Warner Bros. records on a global licensing partnership after falling out nearly 20 years ago under a “slave” contract. Immediately following the fall-out, Prince changed his name to an unpronounceable glyph.

Prince and Warner Bros. relationship started back in 1978, with the release of his debut album, For You, and continued well into the 90’s.

Under the new deal, Prince will retain ownership of his masters and we will see the release of never-before-heard tracks and re-releases, including the 30th Anniversary of the classic, Purple Rain. Warner Bros. will also digitally remaster and reissue Prince’s albums from the 70’s through the 90’s.

New music is on the way Prince said in the press release:

“A brand-new studio album is on the way,” He added that both he and Warner Bros. “are quite pleased with the results of the negotiations and look forward to a fruitful working relationship.”

I can’t wait for Prince’s classics to be re-released and to hear new sounds from the Grammy winner. 2014 is shaping up quite nicely on the music front.
