Raven-Symone is apologizing for statements she made last week that many people felt were offensive.

While discussing racial discrimination on ‘The View’ with her co-hosts Symone said, “I’m very discriminatory against words like the ones they were saying in those names. I’m not about to hire you if your name is Watermelondrea.” Symone was referencing a viral video the show played that listed the 60 most “ghetto names.”

On Sunday Symone wrote “My comments about discrimination have spun out of control,” on her Facebook page.

She also stated:

“I have been denied many jobs because of my skin color, body size, and age,” she said. “Each time I was rejected, my self esteem was negatively effected, so I empathize with those who feel victimized by what I said. We would hope that when it comes to hiring, our names, physical appearance, sexual orientation, and age would never outweigh our qualifications, but often times, they do,”

This isn’t Raven’s first time saying something that ruffled some folks feathers.
