Share prices for Weight Watchers jumped 18% on Tuesday after the brand released an ad saying that talk show queen Oprah Winfrey had lost 26 pounds with the service. Oprah made a play to help save Weight Watchers in October, joining the company as a board

There’s no denying that Oprah Winfrey has the Midas touch. When she cosigns a brand, they are more than likely to soar. This proved to be true for Weight Watchers. After Oprah took to Twitter to share a video detailing how she dropped 26 pounds using Weight Watchers while still eating bread daily, the company’s shares catapulted more than 20 percent, and rose to $13.29 per share. Prior to the video, which was posted around 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, Weight Watchers’ stocks were $11.35 per share. The video, which was tweeted out to her 30.9 million followers, earned O $12.5 million, since she owns 10 percent of the company’s stock. “I love bread. I now just manage it,” she said in the video. “I don’t deny myself bread. I have bread every day. That’s the genius of this program. I lost 26 pounds and I have eaten bread every single day.” Oprah bought a 10 percent stake in Weight Watchers last year. The company saw a rise in shares after her investment was announced. Donald Trump to Skip GOP Debate Hosted by Fox News

GOP frontrunner Donald Trump has decided to back out of Thursday’s Republican Presidential debate because he has something against Fox News reporter Megyn Kelly, who is slated to be the moderator. Trump and Kelly bumped heads during the first GOP debate last summer. “I don’t think she’s a professional. I don’t think she’s a talented person,” he said during a recent interview. Trump’s camp released a statement saying that he will host an event for veterans instead of attending the debate. While on air on Tuesday evening, Kelly threw a subliminal message at Trump while discussing the upcoming debate by saying, “Not everyone is showing up, we hope you will.” Read more.

White Actor to Play Michael Jackson in Upcoming Film

Diversity in Hollywood has been at the forefront of a national conversation after Black actors and actresses were left out of this year’s Oscar nominations, and a new project is bound to have people up in arms. A fictional film, which is centered on a road trip taken by Michael Jackson, Marlon Brando, and Elizabeth Taylor after the 9/11 attacks, is in the works. Actor Joseph Fiennes, who will play the role of MJ, is a White man. “I got the script the other day,” Fiennes said during a recent interview. “It’s a challenge. It’s a comedy. It doesn’t poke mean fun, but it’s a story, possibly urban legend, whereby Michael, Marlon Brando, and Liz Taylor were all together the day before 9/11 doing a concert. Airspace was shut down and they couldn’t get out and Michael had the bright idea to go to hire a car and drive.” Fiennes has also starred in “Shakespeare in Love” and “American Horror Story.” Read more.
