Meek Mill just began serving his 90 day house arrest sentence last week, but according to TMZ his legal team is working on an appeal. Meek’s lawyers are requesting that a judge reconsider the stipulations of the house arrest that forbid him from recording or performing any music while serving his time.
The lawyers will argue that Meek’s career will have to be on hold for three months while he is on house arrest. Meek put in some work before being confined to his home like promoting his Dreamchasers 4 project, and releasing two four-song EPs. Unfortunately, Meek also missed out on the chance to star in a Will Smith movie due to his court obligations.
Meek Mill just started his house arrest sentence last week, but according to TMZ, his legal team is already appealing the ruling. According to the report, Meek isn’t mad that he has to be under house arrest for the next three months, but that he can’t record or perform any music during the stretch. A Philadelphia judge sentenced Meek to house arrest in February, and many saw it as a win because he didn’t have to go back to jail. The major stipulation with the sentence was that Meek could no longer record music while he’s on house arrest, which basically means he has to halt his career for three months.
Over the past few months, Meek has been promoting his Dreamchasers 4 project, and even released two four-song EPs, though it’s now unclear if he’ll be able to drop anything else before his sentence is over. Meek has been on probation for years now, and it’s reportedly cost him plenty of opportunities, notably the chance to star in a Will Smith movie back in November.
