The Phoenix Suns have named Earl Watson their permanent head coach, removing the interim tag. Watson took over for the Suns after Jeff Hornacek’s firing on February 1st, and he received praise for his short tenure. He went 9-24 over 33 games, relatively impressive considering who was on the court. Watson, only 36, is a former NBA point guard, having played from 2001-2014. He’s now tasked with turning this strange but promising mix of mainly young players into a contender. Watson is receiving a 3-year contract from Phoenix.
