Breaking records and taking names is nothing new to Beyonce. Bey, who just wrapped up her Formation World Tour is currently the only artist in history to have their first 6 albums debut at number 1 on the Billboard 200.
Now, Bey’s sister Solange is coming to get a piece of the action. The singer dropped her “Seat at the Table” album last week and it has hit number 1 on the Billboard chart. This unique achievement makes the Knowles sisters the first in music history to both have a #1 album in the same calendar year (‘Lemonade’ and “Seat at the Table” respectively)
This accomplishment has been done before by a brother and sister combo that you may have heard of…Michael and Janet Jackson did it back in 2001 when they both dropped albums in the same year that made it to number one.
