Early Wednesday morning news broke that former NFL player Aaron Hernandez committed suicide in his prison cell.
Now Hernandez’s lawyer, Jose Baez, is reportedly speaking out and believes his death could have been a murder. In fact, he claims that his death could have been a “murder orchestrated within the prison walls.” According to TMZ, Baez has reportedly launched an investigation on behalf of Hernandez’s family, as they do not believe he would have taken his own life.
Baez believes that this could have been a murder committed by the other inmates or by the people who run the prison. Baez says that Hernandez’s family is “devastated” by his unexpected death.
Last week Hernandez was found not guilty in a double murder case. Baez told TMZ Sports that Hernandez “was in a good place and was very optimistic about his future!”
