July Deadliest Month Of Afghan War

WRAL is reporting that July has become the deadliest month of the Afghan war.
The death toll for July stands at 63… In December President Barack Obama ordered 30,000 reinforcements to Afghanistan.
American troops have been in Afghanistan fore nearly nine years.

Oil Most Likely Not Coming To East Coast

An expert on marine sciences and coastal circulation says it’s unlikely oil from BP’s massive spill in the Gulf of Mexico will reach the East Coast. Experts say the chances are low in part because the well is capped for now… This is the exact oppisite of what scientist were saying two months ago.

A National Center for Atmospheric Research model released at the beginning of June also projected that parts of the oil spill could come up the East Coast during the summer.

Record Breaking Heat Causing Medical Issues

Yesterday the Department of Health and Human Services sent out a reminder of the dangers associated with extremely hot weather. More than 690 people across the state sought medical treatment for a heat-related illness from July 11-25. In july the triangle had six days where temperatures topped 100 degrees. To help prevent a heat-related illness, doctors suggest people start hydrating as early as possible before going out in the heat.

P-O Accused Of Selling P-ills

State Probation officer, James David Franklin, was arrested in Burke County on July 8 and charged with felony drug trafficking in opiates. He is accused of trying to sell more than 100 hydrocodone pills.

According to an arrest warrant, Franklin tried to sell Vicodin to an undercover officer…
Franklin worked for the state since 1993 and earns an annual salary of $33,215.

A new government study ranks the laziest states in the nation by examining where people spend the bulk of their time sitting around.

North Carolina ranks 4^th on the list of laziest states…

The survey evaluated how much time people over the age of 15 spent their day sitting, surfing the Web or sleeping…

The least laziest states are North Dakota and Hawaii…

Worlds First Male Face Transplant

The world’s first man to undergo a full face transplant held his first press conference to speak about the success of his surgery.

He’s 31 and he’s only being identified by the name Oscar. It took doctors 24 hours to lift an entire face, including jaw, nose, cheekbones, muscles, teeth and eyelids. They then placed it masklike onto Oscar’s.

Oscar had to have a face transplant after accidentally shooting himself in the face five years ago.

It’s Back To Jail Again

TMZ is reporting that DMX is planning to surrender to authorities in a Los Angeles courtroom and begin serving jail time in connection to a crime he committed “5 or 6 years ago.

His manager said she’s not sure about the nature of the crime — but insists that DMX is “focused” on taking care of all of his past legal issues so he can move on with his life.

THIS JUST IN!!!!!

I’m hearing that all this stems from a 2002 reckless driving conviction. Turns out, DMX was placed on probation after he plead no contest to the crime … but has since violated his probation … and has been ordered to serve 90 days in a city jail facility.

Evander’s Holyfield’s 20-year-old son Ewin Ezekiel Holyfield, was arrested Saturday after marijuana was located in several areas throughout the vehicle

Officers also reported finding a bag of small, white pills. He was booked into the Fayette County Jail and released Sunday on a $2,726 bond.
