Russell Simmons Protests Cow Milk?

Music mogul Russell Simmons has taken up a new cause. He is protesting cow milk as New York’s state beverage. Stop laughing! Simmons is dead serious. The Def Jam founder recently wrote a letter to New York’s governor, Andrew Cuomo, explaining how milk made from rice, soy, and almonds is better for the body than cow milk. Though dairy farms bring in a lot of money for the state, the change in milk could push new businesses. The money made from a different kind of milk could replace any money New York has lost.

Simmons and Cuomo have a history of working together. The pair worked to have New York’s strict drug laws modified. Cuomo nor his office has responded to Simmons’ ideas. Would you rather drink cow milk or soy? Does anybody still drink milk anymore? Share your thoughts.

Crimnal Minds star Shemar Moore threw a Super Bowl party and things got pretty wild. The more pressing matter at the shindig was the fact he was photographed kissing multiple white women and didn’t take one photo with a black woman.

Shemar Moore has come under fire for dating white women on more than one occasion. The weird thing about Moore is that though is is mixed, he considers himself a black man yet the only time he has some sort of interaction with black women is when he is paid to in a movie. Moore has come out and said he appreciates black women, but actions haven’t supported his statements.

Once upon a time, the head of rapper Marcus Manchild‘s label, AMG, told him that he “rapped weird.” About three years later the 22-year-old from Houston was prepared to face a notoriously fickle crowd at New York’s S.O.B’s night club. Any butterflies in his stomach were probably pickled in vodka, but the nerves persisted. This is no country for weird rappers.

“I’ve performed before with a different type of crowd at the Best Buy Theater during Smokers Club but with this type of crowd….They’ll boo you. Quick,” he says recalling the show the next day. “And that’s what they kept telling me. If you didn’t get booed then it was a success.”

Well, Marcus didn’t get booed. In fact, the show went really well. Bringing out hometown hero Paul Wall didn’t hurt, but Marcus held his own. As it turns out, weird is the new black. Or purple.

“In my eyes, it was amazing. Just to come up to New York and see a packed out house and never performed in front of that type of crowd. So I go out and they start rockin’ out with me, even if they weren’t super rockin’ I could tell I had their attention.”

The former High School point guard is aware that he’s in a whole new game now, but he’s ready to play. His remix of ASAP Rocky’s “Purple Swag” is a defiant reclamation of his hometown’s hip-hop legacy. Being influenced by his city is fine, but he’s got a firm grip on the Houston torch and isn’t letting it go to just anybody. Check the video to “We Wrong” featuring Slim Thug for proof.

“There a lot of legends out from Houston…you got Scarface, Bun B, Slim Thug and all them and they made a name for themselves and made an image for Houston that you can’t let down,” he says. “Can’t let the people down.”

The video for “N***as In Paris” hit the internet moments ago and while the world tries to avoid having a seizure, some were busy counting how many Illuminati references in the four minute clip.

Pop Culture Moment #6: Jay-Z & Kanye West “N*ggas In Paris” [VIDEO]

Jay-Z and Kanye can deny their membership in the secret society all they want, but we can still speculate. After reading about all of the Illuminati imagery theories in the comments of several posts, The Urban Daily wanted to highlight some of the supposed Illuminati images found in everyone’s favorite track from Watch The Throne. How many did you spot? Did we miss anything? Let us know in the comments.

Mason Symbol – Obviously, there’s no need to explain the Freemason symbol. It makes an appearance on more than once. Though Freemasonry isn’t directly associated with Illuminati, they wind up being grouped together in most instances. Jay and ‘Ye made sure the Freemason symbol was displayed. Lie and say it isn’t.

The Vitruvian Man- In the middle of the video, you can see a mirrored image of a lion’s head. On the surface, there isn’t much to talk about. However, you can see a figure similar to Leonardo da Vinci’s sketch, “The Vitruvian Man.” He was also speculated to be in the secret society. It might not be a direct reference, but if you’re in a secret organization, indirectly referencing something is the highest form of flattery.

Baphomet – If you’ve never heard of this, allow me to school you. Baphomet is a pagan deity which is popular in occultism and Satanism. The image often is mistaken as the devil, but in truth, it’s the representation of both male and female. The phrase “As above, so below” comes from Baphomet. the Throne try to disguise it as scene filler, but everything is strategically placed in music videos.
