Hide your wife kids, hide your wife! Antoine Dodson, who became an overnight sensation from the now infamous YouTube clip, is using his fame to launch his musical career. Dodson teams up with artist Brent Morgan for a track titled “Lovesick Lullaby.” Even though Dodson’s vocals seem to be assisted by Autotune, the song seems pretty decent.

What say you readers? Does Dodson have a career in music, or should he stick to calling out would-be criminals?

If you have been wondering what Pharrell Williams has been up to these day, well he’s been right under your nose crafting some of the hottest joints that you’ve heard in the last few months. P. sat down with GQ magazine for a brief interview. Here is an excerpt.

GQ: On Rick Ross’ Rich Forever mixtape you rap, “Black boy scoring his life/ I’m scoring the Oscars.” How excited are you for this opportunity—especially since you’re still essentially a music nerd from Virginia who made it big.

Pharrell: I’m just very thankful. And I say that a lot because that’s the most important message. I answer questions the best I can. But most of the answers usually feel the same. And that’s just me being very appreciative of the opportunity, because, like you said, I’m from Virginia Beach, VA. I’m glad that I can exhibit what we can do.

GQ: Are you working on any new music with N.E.R.D.?

Pharrell: Not so much the N.E.R.D., because I’m in producer mode. But I’m definitely in the studio producing shit, though.

GQ: Lupe Fiasco recently announced that you’re working on an album together? You two and Kanye West were working on a project once upon a time, too, your crazy schedules interfered. Think this one will pan out?

Pharrell: I can’t talk about that. Lupe is my man and whatever we’re talking about we can’t really discuss and get into right now. We’re talking about some very interesting things.

GQ: Well, let’s talk about something that’s done and out now: Jay-Z’s “Glory.” You produced it. What did it mean to you to assist in making a song for Jay’s first born? It’s like rap’s “Isn’t She Lovely.”

Pharrell: Uh, that was awesome. But again, that was another covert operation. GQ: Did you guys record that in the hours after his daughter was born or was it recorded in advance? Obviously, her first cries were added after she was born. Pharrell: That was, uh… That was, um… Everything was by design. That’s all I’ll say.

French Montana speaks on marriage, fame and life

The Cocaine Records founder is the newest addition to the Bad Boy team, and with a new label situation on the books, he’s focused on cranking out more music with a forthcoming Coke Boys mixtape. According to Montana, even though it’s been three years since he’s dropped a Cocaine City DVD, he has every intention of revisiting the very project that helped get his name in the streets. “When I shifted to the music, I put the Cocaine sh*t to the side. You know, out of sight out of mind. I’ve only been focused on rap. But when I come back with it, the fans will be like, ‘Whoa, we forgot he had this.’”

What started out as a way to increase his fan base, turned into a platform for him to interview both major and underground artists, but despite the hiatus he’s confident that the public will continue to support the DVDs. “I think that people will still love it. It’ll still be that potent product. It’s still the stuff you don’t see on TV. People love the controversy.”

In the midst of his busy schedule Montana makes sure to remain devoted to his wife of five years, and his toddler son. “The most beautiful thing is making him smile,” he said. Yet even though he’s off the market, that didn’t stop him from shelling out relationship advice on getting a woman’s attention. “Tips? When I holler at women, I just let them know that I’m married and if I get with them, it’s a one night stand. Nah, I’m just joking. [Laughs.] Hollering at ladies—the tips I give people—ladies know what they wanna do when they first speak to you. They already decided if they’re gonna give you some pu**y. Alleged Ex-Girlfriend Sues Drake For Unpaid “Marvin’s Room” Contribution

Ericka Lee, reportedly the female voice on the staged phone call for the song, says she and Drake were lovers and business partners for a time in 2010. Lee filed the suit Thursday (February 2) in a California federal court where she states that the pair often collaborated on lyrics and poems. The suit further says that a verbal agreement between the two to craft “Marvin’s Room” was originally supposed to be an even split in royalties. The complaint says that Lee’s contribution to the song was “highly significant.”

Lee says she received phone texts from Drake that support her songwriter claims, with one reading, “U basically made that song.” Lee was credited as “Syren Lyric Muse” for the song and the two were said to have registered the recording last July, as Lee was confirmed as the featured voice. Drake’s label, Cash Money Records, filed a claim as well that said the work was done as an “employer for hire” transaction.

Anthony Mackie on Black Cinema: “Our Hustle Is Way Behind”

Anthony Mackie unintentionally created a lingering story when he shared his thoughts about the state of Black cinema. Mackie said that Blacks have not done enough to get their stories told. Speaking with NPR, the New Orleans-bred actor said his statement was “blown completely out of proportion,” but did acknowledge that it “was a bad choice of words by me.” He did, however, echo a similar sentiment, citing the late Don Cornelius, Bill Cosby, and Robert Townsend on using their own money to put their products out there.

He said: ”If you look at all of these people from the analogs of African-American history in entertainment, they gave us a blueprint on how to make money, and how to make it work. And I feel like, you know, you get out in the L.A. life. You’re laying in the sun. You’re being invited to parties. You’re having a good time. You have girlfriends, boyfriends. You have expensive cars. You forget the idea of hustle. And I think right now, our hustle game is way behind.”
