(AllHipHop News) A lawyer for DMX has confirmed that the rapper surrendered to authorities in Los Angeles today (July 26th) to begin serving a three month prison sentence.

DMX appeared in a Los Angeles court, where he was sentenced to the three months, for violating the terms of his 2002 probation for a reckless driving charge.

“Mr. Simmons is here today to fully cooperate with respect to any matters of the Court’s concern,” DMX’s lawyer Aja M. Southern told AllHipHop.com. “This is one of many steps towards rebuilding his image and rapport with the community and his loyal fans.”

The jail sentence comes on the heels of DMX’s release from prison earlier this month, after he served four months in an Arizona jail.

In that incident, the rapper violated his probation when he tested positive for cocaine and was found guilty of other infractions, which violated his probation in another case.

DMX is finally out of the dog house. XXLMag.com has learned that the troubled rapper, born Earl Simmons, was freed from an Arizona jail today (July 6). X’s criminal defense attorney, Glenn Allen, confirmed with XXL that the Yonkers-bred MC was released after serving four months of a six-month sentence. As previously reported, the Yonkers MC was locked up on March 9 for for five counts of violating his probation, all of which were related to cocaine abuse. The Ruff Ryder was on probation for throwing a food tray at an officer while locked up on drug, theft and animal abuse charges last year. (XXL Mag)

Troubled rapper DMX may be rescued by addiction specialist Dr. Drew Pinsky, according to reports. DMX was busted for violating his probation by using cocaine. He was sent to jail on Tuesday (March 9th), where he is being held without bond until a hearing on March 16th. TMZ.com reports that DMX’s attorney Gary Jenkins was contacted by representatives for Celebrity Rehab, who may send a specialist to court in order to convince a judge to send him to rehab, instead of prison. Dr. Drew took the same steps with Jessica Sierra of American Idol fame.

DMX won’t fight in the ring but he will have to fight this $1 million lawsuit for backing out.

Rapper DMX is the subject of a new $1 million dollar lawsuit for backing out of a celebrity boxing match scheduled to take place in December in Birmingham, Alabama.

 DMX was originally scheduled to fight boxer/actor Eric Martinez during an event titled “Alabama Pride,” promoted by Thunder Promotions.

 The rapper was scheduled to box Martinez for three rounds but backed out of the fight when Thunder Promotions allegedly refused to fix the fight or guarantee DMX’s safety.

 DMX’s abrupt cancellation left promoters scurrying to find a replacement.

 Shortly after it was announced that DMX would be pulling out of the fight, Thunder Promotions signed up rapper Coolio to face off against Martinez in the ring on December 12th.

 According to Coolio, he has no plans to fix the fight or to even lose the contest.

 “I’ve been doing martial arts for 18 years…somebody [is] gonna get knocked the f**k out,” Coolio exclaimed to radio host Angela Yee during an interview last week. “Coolio don’t take a** whoopin’s well. I’ll tell you what, if I get into trouble, you gonna know because it’s gonna go from boxing to f**king wrestling and choking because I hate to lose.”

 Thunder Promotions filed the $1 million dollar lawsuit against DMX in Birmingham County Court on Friday (November 20th).

 Thunder Promotions claims DMX’s cancellation has caused them hundreds and thousands of dollars and damages.

 The lawsuit is the latest financial set back for DMX, who also owes $1.5 million in back taxes to the IRS.

DMX wants to get into the boxing ring and prove to everyone that he’s still a tough guy, but there was a serious catch — he’ll only do it if the promoters can somehow MAKE the other guy lose… It’s all over an upcoming celebrity fight in Alabama — X signed on to fight some wannabe actor named Eric Martinez. But after he agreed to a 3-round fight, DMX had a few demands… X’s manager, Nakia Walker, submitted an addendum to the rapper’s original contract for the fight, stipulating: “Event Promoter and Management agree that [DMX] is scheduled to win Boxing Challenge.” Walker also added a line which read, “All parties agree this event has been scheduled to occur only in fun and that the artist involved is not a professional boxer.” (That’s not Gangsta Mr. X). The fight promoters, Thunder Promotions, refused to sign the addendum — claiming they never agreed to fix anything. Now, DMX is threatening to back out and the promoters are looking for someone
to replace the rapper while they also prepare a lawsuit for breach of contract.
