WRAL is reporting that a cold front sweeping into North Carolina early Wednesday could bring tornadoes, severe thunderstorms and damaging winds. The peak threat time is from midnight through 6 a.m. Weds morning.

The first tornado watch for North Carolina has been posted for the Charlotte area south and west toward Atlanta until 10 p.m.
The line of storms is already causing problems in parts of Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana.
