Members of the Hope for Haiti Foundation spent yesterday evening praying for the people whose lives have been devastated by the earthquake in Haiti. WTVD is reporting that several members of the group have been to Haiti and personally know some of the people impacted by the deadly earthquake. Students from Duke and NC Central came to show there support and to bow their heads in prayer. Help began arriving earlier today when an Air China plane carrying a Chinese search-and-rescue team, medics and aid landed at Port-au-Prince airport. The U.S. and other nations said they were sending food, water, medical supplies to assist the Western Hemisphere’s poorest nation, where the international Red Cross estimated 3 million people — a third of the population — may need emergency relief.
