Today E1 Music (formerly Koch) announced that the company will be releasing The Avon Barksdale Story- Legends Of The Unwired in March 2010. Fans of HBO’s The Wire should recognize Avon Barksdale as the character played by actor Wood Harris on the award winning series. In the docudrama, the real Nathan Avon “Bodie” Barksdale tells all to actor Wood Harris.
The Avon Barksdale Story has already won an award at NY International Independent Film & Video Festival. The film is said to be a true insider’s view into the drug and gang wars that plagued Baltimore, MD in the 1980’s.
