Here are a few tips to keep cool in this heatwave:
*Run your wrists under cold water every few hours for five seconds. It helps cool your blood because of the main vein that’s located there.
*Wear light colored cotton clothes.Dark colors attract heat and sunlight, light colors reflect. Also, synthetic fabrics trap heat, while cotton absorbs perspiration and helps you feel cooler.
*Before you leave your crib make sure to draw those blinds. It will keep the house from getting as hot during the day.
*Drink chrysanthemum tea. Chrysanthemum is a cooling herb!
*Close your eyes and daydream about snow. Research has shown it actually works in reducing your body temperature!
*Avoid alcohol because it dehydrates the body. Also beware of caffeine it can up the metabolic heat in the body.
*Literally pop the bedsheets in a plastic bag and refrigerate a few hours before bedtime.
*Air-Conditioning… It’s a must. Fix your busted one, rent one if you can’t afford to buy. It’s worth it!
