Hurricane Irene has contributed to at least five deaths in North Carolina.
The most recent occurred in the town of Ayden in Pitt County. A man was found dead in his home after winds caused a tree to fall onto his house.
Also in Pitt County, a man died when his car hydroplaned and hit a tree Saturday. In Goldsboro, a teenager was killed in a traffic crash.
In Nash County, a man died after a large tree limb fell on top of him.
In Onslow County, a man died from a heart attack while boarding up his home.
