SHOWTIME SAYS…

The Triangle is expecting some bad weather later on this evening. The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for 31 counties including Wake, Durham, and Chatham, until midnight.

The cold front that could potentially cause the tornado is expected to hit the area around 10 p.m. Wednesday.

“From 7 p.m. until midnight that is the time we will be watching,” WRAL chief meteorologist Greg Fishel said.

There will be a slight chance of severe storms, Maze said. Damaging winds will be the greatest danger, and there’s also a very slight chance of an isolated tornado.

Rain from the storm is expected to last through Thursday morning.

We can expect a cold front to stay in the area once the rain moves out.
