In a recent interview TV gameshow host Pat Sajak has admitted to being drunk behind The Wheel Of Fortune while under the influence of alcohol.
The 65-year-old Sajak was asked in an interview with ESPN if he had ever did the show drunk. He replied “Yes”
In an on-air interview with ESPN2’s Dan Le Batard Tuesday, the 65-year-old “Wheel of Fortune” host was asked if he ever did the show while intoxicated.
Sajak said he and letter turner Vanna White regularly would consume alcohol before taping to fill the downtime created by the game show’s original format.
“Our dinner breaks would be 2 1/2 hours long while they drove in new cars and boats and gazebos and stuff,” Sajak told Le Batard. “So at NBC in Burbank we had a place called Los Arcos across the street, and they served great margaritas.
“So Vanna and I would go across and have two or three and six and then come and do and the last shows and have trouble recognizing the alphabet.”
He added that some of those old episodes would be “great tapes to get a hold of.”
