Tax officials say North Carolina is catching up on income tax refunds after a delay earlier this year caused by slow cash flow… The Charlotte Observer is reporting that the Revenue Department said tax return filers who meet the April 15 deadline should have their refunds by mid-May. Refunds delayed beyond May 31 start accruing 5 percent interest.
