Brian Dawson EOG Tour at Oak Grove Elementary

The second annual Brian Dawson EOG Tour will be visiting Oak Grove Elementary on Tuesday, May 1. The event will begin at 1 p.m. This high energy pep rally is design to motivate students to prepare for their upcoming North Carolina End-of-Grade (EOG) tests.

“Let’s Move!” at Oak Grove Elementary

On Thursday, May 3, at exactly 1:42 p.m., over 400 schools across the country will unite and celebrate the first anniversary of First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! initiative designed to curb childhood obesity. Students in grades 3-5 will be dancing to Beyonce’s “Move Your Body” routine.

Core Knowledge Festival at R.N. Harris Elementary

R.N. Harris Elementary will be holding its second annual Core Knowledge Festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 5. The Integrated Arts/Core Knowledge curriculum will be showcased. Parents and community members will have an opportunity to sample foods from various countries of study. Mickey Mills, a steel drummer, will be performing as well as the Harris F.L.I.G.H.T. Troop, chorus, Suzuki violins and Takiri dancers.

May Fair at Club Boulevard Elementary

Club Boulevard Elementary will formally dedicate its new building and the renovations to the old building during May Fair on Saturday, May 5. The event will begin at 3 p.m. and last until 6 p.m. The ceremony will take place at 4 p.m. The chorus will sing, alumni and/or student leaders will speak, ribbon will be cut and special recognition will be offered.
