SHOWTIME SAYS…

Rapper Lil’ Boosie whose real name is Torrence Hatch has been acquitted of murder charges by a Louisiana jury. The jury deliberated for about an hour and came back with the not guilty verdict.

Proscecutors alleged  that Boosie hired a man to kill 35-year-old Terry Boyd in 2009.  According to the prosecution, Boosie paid $2,800 to have Boyd killed over a beef that stemmed from a music beef.

Boosie’s lawyers and his his supporters have maintained the rapper’s innocence since his incarcerated.

Hatch’s lawyer said detectives called Louding the “ace in the hole.” Attorney Jason Williams pointed out that’s a poker saying. He said poker is a game of deceit. He added the detective testified he’s skilled at deceit and that’s what this case is about. He told the jury to notice investigators said they preserved computers with lyrics on them for jurors to see, but police didn’t preserve 10 hours of interrogation tape for jurors to see.

Even though he was acquitted of murder, Boosie is still serving an 8- year sentence on unrelated drug charges.
