beyonce-5th album

Pop icon, Beyoncé, is having the best weekend EVER! According to sources over at Billboard, the DIVA is expected to push over 600k copies of her self-titled fifth studio album.

“Beyonce” shifted slightly over 80,000 in the three hours from 9 p.m. PT to midnight on Thursday evening and on Friday sold another 350,000, according to industry sources putting the total at 430,000. With two more days left in the sales tracking week, the title could sell over 600,000 before the buzzer sounds.

Queen Bey shocked fans, and critics, alike by suddenly releasing the album to iTunes on midnight, Friday morning with no warming or promotion – suicide for most artists. And being bold has clearly paid off, as the album will debut #1 on the Hot 200.

As we previously reported, “Blow” and the Jay-Z-assisted “Drunk In Love” have been chosen as the singles. Beyoncé features 14 songs and 17 videos, which can be viewed here.
