In light of the Adrian Peterson case I was having a conversation with a few people and we were discussing how our parents disciplined us. All I can say is if that 1-800 number was out back then many of our parents would be pulling time right now for child abuse…..but on the other hand we all turned out alright with no criminal records. I must admit I was a handful as a kid and my parents handled me with whatever was in arms reach,a belt, switch from a tree, a shoe, a ruler…even the broken part from the old refrigerator that held the eggs. Yep, nowadays they would be pulling time for child abuse but I believe those spanking made me the responsible law-abiding citizen I am today. Think about the stories you hear on the generation of kids that was given the 1-800 number to call. It was unheard of a teen killing their parents or grand parents because they mad they took their cell phone away O_O. Looking at the marks on Adrian Peterson’s son it may have been a bit much but I remember wearing many a welts on my legs from those whippings I received. Do you think the government should continue to give so much power to kids when it comes to their parents disciplining them with a whipping or should the government allow parents to discipline their kids without having to worry about going to jail for trying to teach their kids right from wrong?
