One Philadelphia family’s worst nightmare is over as Carlesha Freeland-Gaither has been found alive!

Carlesha was snatched off the street in Philly suburb over the weekend, and her chilling abduction was caught on tape. In the video, she’s seen fighting off a man a with a knife. In her struggle to escape, a witness said the young lady lost her glasses and wallet. There was also word that she kicked out a car window

Sadly, the kidnapper eventually got her into the car and sped away; just a day after the incident was splashed across national news, though, NBC Philadelphia can gladly report that Carlesha has been rescued!

While the story could certainly have ended in tragedy, detectives told NBC that Carlesha was found alive near Baltimore. She was taken from her kidnapper’s car and transported to an area hospital, where she is being treated for injuries she sustained during her ordeal.

Carlesha’s mother, Keisha Gaither, kept her statements brief during a news conference as she simply said, “I’m taking my baby home. Thank you!”

The abductor has been identified as a man named Delven Barnes, 37, and numerous tips from the public helpd authorities to catch him. After the story went national, people kept offering up tips on his car, and cops arrested him near Baltimore as he was seen getting out of the vehicle.

Delven, who has a history of violence, is being held in Virginia for attempted capital murder.
