Yesterday, we reported that the U.S. Army was stuck in the 1960’s and still referring to blacks or African-Americans as Negroes. Well, public outrage sparked almost immediate actio
n, as the Army Regulation handbook with the term has already been updated.

The Army has also released an apology stating:

“The U.S. Army fully recognized, and promptly acted, to remove outdated language in Army Regulation 600-20 as soon as it was brought to our attention. We apologize to anyone we offended.”

They now use the terms “Black” and “African American” (to Raven-Symone’s dismay).
