‘Black’ Washington State NAACP Leader Is Really White, Parents Say

Source: @KREMTaylor / NewsOne/Twitter

Its been a little over a month since former NAACP leader Rachel Dolezal made headlines for pretending to be a black woman. In a recent interview with Vanity FAir she continues to identify herself as a black woman even though both of her parents are white.

In the interview Dolezal is sticking by her delusional guns:

“It’s not a costume. I don’t know spiritually and metaphysically how this goes, but I do know that from my earliest memories I have awareness and CONNECTION with the black experience, and that’s never left me. It’s not something that I can put on and take off anymore.

Like I said, I’ve had my years of confusion and wondering who I really [was] and why and how do I live my life and make sense of it all, but I’m not confused about that any longer. I think the world might be — but I’m not.”

Dolezal says that since losing her job at the NAACP she has had to go back to her roots doing something that she learned years ago. She is now a hairstylist working out of her home. I swear I am not making this up BTW…

She is also planning to write a book to tell her side of the story.
