A new report is stating that we could be in for a sequel to the classic movie ‘Soul Food’. Apparently, Fox is developing a follow-up to the film which starred Vanessa Williams, Vivica Fox, Nia Long, and Mekhi Phifer.

Conceptually, the sequel will introduce the new, millennial generation of the Joseph family. The reports adds, that “in the age of cell phones and social media, the once-close clan finds themselves disconnected and, without the guidance of the elders who have always held things together, they struggle to rediscover the importance of tradition and family.”

The original film did really good at the box office by bringing in about $43.7 million and also spawned the hit TV show “Soul Food:The Series” on Showtime.

No word yet on whether the original cast members plan on returning.
