Mo’ Nominations, Mo’ Problems…
Hot off the news of 7 Grammy nominations on Monday, The Weeknd is being sued over his hit song, “The Hills.” Cutting Edge Music claims that The Weeknd jacked the bassline from their score from the movie, The Machine.
C.E.M. also alleges that The Weeknd’s own producer admitted to using their song, but that they NEVER gave permission for its use. Damages are unspecified at this time, but with the success of the song, we wouldn’t be surprised if it’s in the hundreds of thousands or more….
