A sheriff in Tennessee is blaming Beyonce’s video ‘Formation’ for someone shooting at his home. Officer Robert Arnold says that he found six shell casings near his home recently. When asked about the shooting Arnold said “I don’t know why other than me being in my position, the chief law enforcement officer of the county. That’s the only thing that I can think of, is just me in my position as a whole.” Arnold added that when he first heard the shots, he wondered if they were inspired by the Super Bowl halftime show. Following up his comment, he said, “You know, Beyonce’s video.” Wait…WHAT?!?!?

Arnold later sent out an email statement and clarified his words. “My comments reflect the violence and senseless killing of seven deputies in the U.S. since the show aired. My comments are an observation of the violence that has occurred but in no way is meant to offend anyone.” The email also included a link to The National Sheriff’s Association’s website featuring an article that states, “The senseless killing of four law enforcement officers just this week — on the heels of the anti-police ‘entertainment’ at the Sunday Super Bowl halftime show — reminds us that the men and women in law enforcement take a solemn oath that includes putting their lives on the line every day to protect our citizens.”
