The Kardashians better move over because Mariah Carey is fluttering onto E! roster of reality shows.

Mariah‘s returning to primetime reality TV after her run on American Idol, and this time it’s all about her. The diva revealed to The New York Times that she has signed for a docuseries titled Mariah’s World.

And she’s being very specific about the terminology she’s using when referring to the show.

“I refuse to call it a reality show,” Mariah told The New York Times, explaining that she wants to show the masses a new side of herself. “I thought it would be a good opportunity to kind of, like, show my personality and who I am, even though I feel like my real fans have an idea of who I am. A lot of people have misperceptions about this and that.”

Although Mariah may not be running the show, she does have a major say on what footage can and cannot be used on-air. She’ll be using that power to keep her twins, Moroccan and Monroe, off of the screen.

“I don’t want to do anything that’s exploitative,” she stated, adding that there may be a few exceptions made. “There might be a couple of moment, but it’s not about making them the stars of the show. They’re too young to make that decision.”

Filming began earlier this month, but no premiere date has been set just yet. According to, Entertainment Weekly, though, Mariah‘s lambs can expect to see Mariah’s World later this year.
