Ice Cube has signed a deal with VH1 to create a new show entitled Hip Hop Squares. The show will be a spin-off of the classic game show Hollywood Squares. The network ordered 20 episodes of the show that will feature celebrities from hip hop, and entertainment. Contestants will have their pop culture knowledge tested on each show.

The show will be produced by Cube’s company Cube Vision.

In a statement about the new deal Cube confirmed reports about the show:

Hip Hop Squares is going to be fun and spontaneous; unlike typical game shows, viewers should never know what’s going to happen next. When VH1 asked us to join the producing team, we jumped aboard as we have had success with VH1, and we love their team, excitement and commitment to the show.

Look for the new show to air in the fall.
