2016 just won’t let up… After taking Prince, David Bowie, Muhammad Ali, and many other notable celebrities, it has struck again — this time taking away from us 80’s & 90s’s pop icon, George Michael. According to reports, he died from heart failure while asleep peacefully at home. He was 53.

Reports also state that in the months leading to his death, he struggled with his weight and had gained a considerable amount –which may have contributed to his heart failure. Pictures here.

Michael rose to fame in the early 80’s as a part of pop-duo, WHAM!, who had such hits as “Last Christmas,” and “Wake Me Up Before You Go Go,” before going solo to even more success. Some of Michael’s biggest hits include “Faith,” “Freedom,” “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down On Me,” “Father Figure,” and “Careless Whisper,” to name a few.

His list of collaborators is the thing of legends, and includes Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Mary J. Blige, Stevie Wonder, and the list goes on.

Having sold over 100 million records, and won countless awards, and having many timeless, thought-provoking classics, this is a major loss for the music world and fans.

R.I.P. George Michael.
