As the Power Rangers remake sees success in the box office, one of the originals will be seeing a jail cell for killing his roommate back in 2015.

Ricardo Medina Jr. was sentenced to six years behind bars today for stabbing his roommate to death. Medina, who played the Red Lion Wild Force Ranger on “Power Rangers Wild Force” in 2002, plead guilty to voluntary manslaughter after claiming that he used his sword in self-defense.

The actor’s initial charge was first-degree murder but his attorney decided to plead to a lesser charge rather than risk life in jail.

Many of the victim’s family members gave emotional testimony during the case.
