A woman was arrested in Durham this week after she threw lighter fluid on her son’s elementary school teacher and threatening to burn down Eno Valley Elementary according to WTVD.

According to Durham police, teacher Megan Jones was having a parent-teacher conference with

Shequella Sheala Leonard, who became upset with the teacher while discussing the child’s behavior. When school officials told Leonard that she needed to leave the building she went to a hallway, pulled out a bottle of lighter fluid and doused the teacher all over her arms, face, and chest. The teacher ran away when her eyes began to burn from the liquid. Leonard then threatened to light Jones on fire, and burn down the entire school.

Leonard has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, malicious use of explosives causing injury, and misdemeanor communicating threats. She is being held at the Durham County Detention Center under $500,000 bond.
