Not even all of the controversy surrounding this year’s BET awards and performances from artists like Chris Brown, Future, Trey Songz and others was enough to bring in good ratings for this year’s show.
Over the last ten years the show was able to bring in no less than 7 million viewers but this year’s show wasn’t as successful. The show was hosted by comedian Leslie Jones. Ratings of the show were down about 19 percent from last year. This year’s episode was simulcast live across 9 Viacom networks including MTV, VH1, Comedy Central, Centric and others.
