As you need another reason to love Idris Elba, here is the newest. He is the frontman for All Is Love, a short film by designer Stella McCartney. The film focuses on the launch of McCartney’s new platform Stella McCartney Cares Pink. According to her website, the platform is dedicated to the prevention, early detection and treatment of breast cancer through education, awareness and support. McCartney is the daughter of music legend Paul McCartney and in 1998 she lost her mother to breast cancer.
Elba told British Vogue, “Along with many other people, I was unfortunate enough to have lost my father to cancer five years ago. Removing the taboo around men talking about breast cancer and encouraging other men to talk about it with their wives, mothers, sisters isn’t something we often see or hear about, but it should be. We should be encouraging the women in our lives to go for regular check-ups.” Yes!
During the film, women will reveal their mastectomy scars and share their stories. Some of the ladies will also be wearing the Louise Listening, a post-double mastectomy compression bra named in the honor of McCartney’s mother. The beautiful thing about this campaign is that one hundred percent of the proceeds from the undergarment goes to breast cancer research and 1,000 will be donated to breast cancer patients in need! Now that’s beautiful!
