Viewers will learn the entire behind the scenes details about Kelly’s relationships with young women including Aaliyah! The docuseries will have interviews with Kelly’s former personal assistant, some of the women who had relationships with Kelly and a couple of former backup singers.

One former backup singer, Jovante Cunningham says in the series that Kelly would have sex with Aaliyah while others were present. When Kelly and Aaliyah allegedly got married – Kelly says that they were just friends and didn’t get married – he was 27 years old and she was 15. But Kelly’s personal assistant, Demetrius Smith says that he was at the wedding which he is ashamed to admit. Hum

Aaliyah’s mother, Diane Haughton says that Cunningham is lying about her seeing Kelly having sex with Aaliyah. She said in a statement, “The woman and so-called backup singer in the forthcoming Surviving… documentary that describes seeing, meeting or ever breathing the same air as my daughter, Aaliyah, is lying and a liar. My husband and I were always on tour with her and at interviews and every place she went throughout her entire career. Whoever this woman is, I have never seen her before anywhere on planet earth, until now.” She’s evening considering taking legal action against the docuseries producers and Lifetime for dragging her daughter’s name.

Surviving R. Kelly premieres tonight at 9:00 pm on Lifetime. This series sounds really interesting. Will you watch?
