“The Boondocks” started out in 1996 as a comic strip on the website, Hitlist.com (a music website) then in 1997, it was seen in The Source Magazine after that Universal Press Syndicated picked it up and it made its national debut in April 1999. In November 2005 until June 2014, the animated series aired on Cartoon Network. Now the hit comic strip is coming back for at least the month of February.

This week, Charlamagne tha God posted several new The Boondocks on  Instagram. In true Aaron McGruder form, the creator touches on several current issues including #MuteRKelly movement and President Donald Trump. Series animator Seung Kim is also part of the ‘rebirth’ of The Boondocks. Charlamagne posted a hit that McGruder threw out,  “Did these for fun (and to see if I still could). More to come… exactly how much more is tough to say.” Oooh, does that mean, The Boondocks might be coming back to tv? Oooh!

Can’t wait to see what happens next! I just hope that if the series comes back, Regina King will still do the voices!
