Autumn-Joi was bitten by the entertainment bug early in life. She received her first internship at WPGC 95.5 in Washington, DC, with radio/TV icon, Donnie Simpson. From that exposure, she knew behind the mic was where she wanted to be. Autumn then took her talents to South Beach where she interned at 99 JAMZ . It was at 99 JAMZ where she got to spread her radio wings when asked to fill in for DJ Khaled's 'The Takeover' show. Upon graduating from college, Autumn received the ultimate graduation present from 93.9 WKYS in Washington, DC when they asked her to bring her talents to their over-night and Sunday afternoon shows. Shes been a correspondent for TMZ, News One Now & TV One. A red carpet correspondent for the BET Awards, NAACP Awards & the Grammys! Autumn-Joi is a member of the Radio One Raleigh family as the midday personality and now has the #1 rated show in the entire triangle! Do you remember the song, “Refill”? And the singer Elle Varner? She’s been off the scene for a minute. Well, she’s back with a killer new song, “Pour Me”. The song is about what happens when you’ve had a few too many, and you’re feeling some type of way. Oooh! Wale is also part of her new sexy song.
In an interview with Essence, Varner said, “’Pour Me’ is about a missed connection that leads to thinking and drinkingabout an almost lover. Sometimes we put someone in the friend zone and later realize we missed a good thing,” Alright now.
