Jay-Z truly supports Historically Black Colleges and Universities. His foundation, The Shawn Carter Foundation(SCF) has kicked off their annual college tour by hosting workshops for participants from 125 different schools in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut area.
SCF was founded in 2003 by Jay-Z and his mom, Gloria Carter. Then in 2007, the bus tour began. According to the foundation’s website, the purpose of the bus tour is to help to aid students in their decision-making process for the college of their choice. It is a week-long trip that includes preparatory workshops such as ACT/SAT preparations, financial aid and scholarship resources.
