Protests Erupt After Minnesota Officer Acquitted In Killing Of Philando Castile

Stephen Maturen

All heros do not wear capes! The loving mother of the fallen black unarmed man #PhilandoCastile decided that she will continue to live in her son’s legacy by giving back and helping the community. She donated $8,000 to Robbinsdale Cooper High School when she learned that they all had lunch debt that may prevent them from graduating.

She understood that fees like lunch debt can be difficult for some families. There were over 300 seniors that are now allowed to graduate because she graciously paid the debts for them. Her son #Philando was also a staff member at J.J Hill Montessori School and she explained how he loved his job and that this would be something close to her son’s heart.

“This is something that Philando held near and dear to his heart. He’d pay for children’s lunch meals out of his own pocked instead of letting a child go hungry that day, he would pay for it himself” says Valarie Castile. We are happy to hear that the #Castile family is continuing to live out Philando’s legacy.
