Aeroplane on runway for takeoff

Lester Lefkowitz

The 4th of July has commenced and the racist antics are still flowing. A black woman was asked to vacate her seat because a white woman refused to sit next to her. The woman was identified as Tiarra, and she made claims on social media that while onboard her flight she was told to relocate her seat because her white seat mate refused to be seated next to her.

The white woman stated that she thought the seat would be empty ans asked other passengers if they could switch seats with her and Tiarra agreed. She eventually allowed a “young white college student” to sit next to her as Tiarra’s replacement. #SpiritAirlines has been known to be in the midst of racial controversy. People have been asked to get off of the plane, accused of having false first class tickets and more. Can black people fly safely around the country anymore?

Tiarra stated “I shouldn’t have needed to switch seats to accommodate her choice of what race she wanted to sit next to and her husband. Why do I have to be a team player to someone who is obviously putting her racist cards on the table”. #Spirit released a statement stating that they have “launched an investigation into this incident and we have reached out directly to the guest to address her concerns. Spirit has a zero tolerance for discrimination of any kind on our flights and we pride ourselves on providing an inclusive and safe environment for our guests”. We’ll see Spirit! We are wishing Miss Tiarra well and we hope the discrimination can stop on flights.
