Troubled singer R. Kelly filed legal documents earlier today where he referred to his sexual assault accusers as “disgruntled groupies”

In the documents Kelly asked the judge hearing his case to be released prior to his upcoming trial because he does not pose a threat, and the claims against him are untrue. While arguing why Kelly should be released, they said “groupies sought out Robert’s attention, even fought each other for it, voluntarily contacted him, came to his shows, pined to be with him …”

Kelly’s lawyer also claimed that the government is trying to portray his client in a negative light, but the charges amount to nothing more than “five disgruntled groupies, not all of which are alleged to be underage, who now show groupie remorse so many years later and only after a TV Show and an aggressive, vocal Cook County prosecutor makes a public cry for ‘victims come forth,’ tell your story and be famous.”

Also, the lawyer says that one of the alleged victims “wanted him so much that she alleges that she did not require or even request that a condom be used.”
